Allthough you can download OpenOffice for every computer operating system, including Linux, Windows, and Mac, you will need to download the correct version of OpenOffice to ensure compatibility with your operating system.

The older version 1.0.3.1 is the recommended version for Windows 95 users, although versions up to 1.1.5 are compatible with this operating system. If you use Windows 98 and Windows ME, you can download the previous versions of OpenOffice up to version 2.4.2. Windows 2000 and Windows Vista users can download any version up to version 3.0.
